Ask for the job description, the parts or fixture models, and who supplies them. Separate a diagnosis from the repair that may follow. Note any wall opening, patching, clean-up or disposal that is excluded.
The price and changes
Check whether the price is fixed or based on time and materials. Ask about minimum charges, travel, after-hours work and tax. Require approval before extra work; keep a record of what you approved.
The practical details
